Mannfried Funk has been a soloist, orchestral section leader, and chamber musician. He has also been a musical contractor and teacher of a large cello studio. Among his accomplishmentsw, he was the founding member of Trio Seattle, The Pacific Chamber Group, toured with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Music of the Night”, and has been a studio musician for the Movie industry and other studio work. Previously he was a member of the Seattle Symphony, the Seattle Opera, the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Co-Principal cello of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute, and the Assistant Principal of the Sinfonica National de Colombia.  Before semi retiring and moving to Alaska, he was the Principal Cello and personnel manager of the Federal Way Symphony,  the Bellevue Symphony, and the Bellevue Opera. Currently he is on the sub-list for the Anchorage Symphony and is the founding member of the professional and locally acclaimed Glacier Quartet. He also contributes and collaborates to the cultural and artistic community of Homer, Alaska.
